Zoë Stevens Crowned 2007 Season Champion, then goes on to win the Post-Season Holiday Classic!

 

 

(Barona Dragstrip, Dec. 2.) Zoë Stevens grabbed another Victory at Barona, running a string of mid-4.3 second passes. She qualified number 2 and ran Low ET of the Meet in Round 1 [1.379 60ft., 4.341 330ft.]. In the finals she stormed to a 4.36 to 4.49 victory over first time finalist Chelsea Straiton! Chelsea had a great day, including a victory over Number One Qualifier, Chad Webber.

Oct 29, Surprise Arizona; Zoë and Team Flatout came to Speedworld on a Mission. An off the trailer 4.284 was Low ET of the Season. She then drove one of the best races we've seen, taking the Season Points Championship and the Event Win!

Katie Neal had the best running digger at the Challenge, collecting the Halfscale Dragsters Low Qualifier Award! Thomas Huddleston had the car running great off the trailer, she reeled off a string of low to mid 4.3 second passes.

 

 

 

 

The Morris Motorsports/Team Racing Enterprises group brought three cars to the Semi's. In this Team match-up, Aaron was up to the task, taking out Vegas winner, Kayla Morris, 4.390 72.61 to 4.412 at 73.05.

 

 

 

Brittany Johnson had another great race, taking home Semi-Finalist honors!

Ricky Reed ran fast, his 4.44 was just a tenth off the number one qualifier, but it was only good enough for the 15th spot. Brett Lenarth ran a 4.41 at 72.64 to qualify tenth.

Brittany and Katie get set for their Quarter-Final race. Brittany then strapped a huge holeshot, taking the victory, 4.433 & 72.89 to Katie's 4.337 at 72.68!

Kayla Morris made the Final Four!

Former WWC Event Winner & Record Holder, Nic Woods was on hand with the Woodpecker Dragster. The Clay Smith Cams entry ran a 4.57, putting Andy Durham in the fourth alternate spot.

Season-long points leader Curtis Moffett qualified sixth, but was upset in round one by Tanner Sundstrom - 4.43 to a 4.44.

  

 

 

Getting Great Reaction Times at Barona was tough during this event. Zoë and Brittany get ready for their Semi Final duel. Zoë would cut her best light of the day, a .110, she led the entire 330 feet, running a 4.37. Brittany's' numbers: .186 reaction and a 4.40 ET.

Arizona Young Guns Tanner Sundstrom & Aaron Christman faced off in Round Two. Aaron got the nod 4.40 to 4.46.

Chad Webber Qualified Second with a hot 4.34. He was beaten in the Quarters by Kayla Morris.

 

  

Josh Mason saw a big improvement after switching to Brendon Frye's old mount, he ran a 4.38 to qualify fifth!

Lots of power & impressive driving skills put Kayla in the Winners Circle. She cooled off all-comers in the Vegas heat to take the Mother Road Harley Davidson 330 Win!

ROBBIE MASSEY PLOWS THROUGH THE FIELD!

July 24, Bandimere Speedway:  Robbie Massey and his team impressed all with their performance and his driving skills!  He used a string of low 4.60s to better his Runner-up finish of last year. He saved his best ET for the finals, taking the win over Zoë Stevens with a great 4.606. He also parlayed an .021 reaction time into a holeshot victory over Curtis Moffett in the Semi-Finals. Robbie would later double-up, winning the WCF 13-year old class - pulling down a cool $6000 in US Savings Bonds on the Mountain!!!

Long after sundown, the Finalists square off in Denver! Robbie Massey out of Des Moines, Iowa takes down left coaster Zoë Stevens with a great 4.60, his Bad Black Digger outdistancing the Silver Bullet and her 4.68!

George "LG" Castro, Jr. had a great day! He won the Morris Motorsports Vacation giveaway, ran real quick and..... took home his second Semi-Final finish of the season!!

The Morris Motorsports Team put on a 330 Racing Clinic at Barona! Curtis Took his second victory in a row -- Sweeping the week-end. For starters, he took Low Qualifier at a stout 4.333. At the end of the event we see him here getting ready to take on teammate Brittany Johnson in the Finals. A super close race with Curtis winding up on top : a .107 reaction time, an ET of 4.395 getting there just ahead of Miss Johnson and her 4.398 coupled with her .111 reaction time!!

 

 

The Caheely brain trust put forth an awesome effort in assisting the Morris Team, qualifying 3 cars and putting 2 in the finals.

                 

The HP Jackpot found Aaron Christman in is first-ever 330 race, impressing all with a semi-final finish after qualifying Fifth at a 4.40.

 

Chad Webber looked great -- Qualifying second with a 4.37, set top speed at 73.6 mph and drove to a super-strong semi-final finish!

 

Dan Pizana ran a 4.38 in qualifying in route to a quarter-final finish.

April 27, SIR, Tucson: Curtis Moffett and the Morris Motorsports Crew celebrate with Mic Williams in the SIR winners circle. Curtis' hot rod was consistently quick throughout eliminations to grab the well deserved victory!

Curtis gets set for a semi-final showdown with the hard running machine of George Castro, Curtis took the win on the top end with a stout 4.45 to George's 4.50 E.T.

Katie Neal was super quick at Tucson, taking home the first ever Half Scale Dragsters Low Qualifier Award, a Semi-Final Finish and Low ET at 4.44!!!

Rick Daily towed out to Tucson from Texas and placed West Coast Gun Mark Whynaught in the saddle. They qualified 11th and ran consistent mid 4.5s.

  

Zoë Stevens ran well, qualified third, but lost to Curtis in a great second round duel - 4.45 to 4.47.

Brittany Johnson picked up where she left off last year. She powered her digger to the second qualifying position before bowing out in the second round to upstart George Castro, Jr.

One of the oddities in Drag Racing occurred in the round one race between Becca Isbell & Brendon Frye. Becca left before the the Tree came down, Brendon followed, likewise before the tree......both drivers were done for the day.

Don Soltz & Hot Shoe Josh Mason were a bit off their usual mark, putting their dragster in the 10th spot. 

 

 

 

Jimmy Morroson used some great driving coupled with some impressive horsepower to get the finals where he lost to Curtis by a scant .006 seconds!!
